Addressing These Concerns

Well, I do not think this will generate much attention, or really any raised eyebrows for that matter. To address the question of whether I use social media: Yes, I do in fact use it. Honestly, I have addressed my fallouts with Facebook in 2017 and Twitter earlier this spring. The only social media that I use at this time are YouTube (Oddly, I consider this as social media), Snapchat (As of this past Monday, the 10th), and Instagram (Using it since July 2017). To me, I can only think of social media by this determination: I use it to socialize, motivate others, compliment content that I feel seems appealing, and to share content that I feel is necessary to share. Basically, social media is like an outlet for me, and I do not monetize from it -- in no means whatsoever. Essentially it is meant to be fun for me -- and it will remain that way for me. Social media is one of those outlets or platforms that seems to preserve purposes that intend to make or break someone. So, if social media...

Practice, Practice, Practice

What can I say? Practice is the best medicine for writers? Whether I yearn for rhythmic thumbs syndrome or if the writing bug has bitten me too many times, I have noticed that growing as a writer takes a lot of practice, so much practice that it may drive me crazy. OK, maybe this is not terribly false, because let's face it, it's me we are talking about here. Case in point I am an imperfect, flawed writer, but my compassion for this art delves deep, so deep it rumbles the ground like a subtle earthquake. The secret that I can share with other people who aspire to write their hearts out is to write continuously, always continue on your account. Meanwhile, if you do feel discouraged about your future endeavors as a writer, do not fret because someone tells you that you cannot do it. You can always do more to prove to yourself that you hold value as a writer. Now does this sort of advice help you? Well, I hope so because you have more talent than you perceive of yourself.

Departure from this heaviness

To begin, I have some disappointing news that recently happened. I have decided to take an indefinite and undetermined break from Instagram. Lately I have noticed abnormalities in my mood and mental health that has become inevitable. It pains for me to discontinue use of Instagram at this time, all because of the activities from Instagram, and because I am not strong enough (mentally) to cope with the hardships. I am not able to handle this pressure anymore. For that, I am sorry to disappoint my Internet friends, real-life friends, and some family members by my departure. There are too many thoughts in my head -- ones that are particularly terrifying -- that make me feel really unhealthy to handle the incessant and insurmountable information on Instagram. So, with that in mind, I cannot give a definitive answer about whether I will return onto the social media platform.

Heartbreaker -- An original poem

Needy…seeking the love you want Patronizing the hearts you stole Manipulating the souls you protected Heartbreaker Temper rises, ears inflamed all around Seeking the souls you broke  Destroying the lives you stole Heartbreaker Stealing the innocence one will lose forever Damaging the fabric of the embrace Disapproving the love you used to share Heartbreaker

Humor Happens in Many Ways

Just to start things off, does it ever make you wonder why laughter is contagious? There are several reasons that many people can conclude by their assessments. Well, I can think of a few possibilities: the sound/inflection — sometimes the sound of laughter really can cause a reaction across a crowd of silence; the joke delivery — now for a joke delivery it really depends on the timing and the intention of it; and, most importantly, the speaker who conveys the humor. In fact, these reasons may be on point…OK, maybe not because let us face it, humor is something difficult to portray whenever we live in times of uncertainty, where we expect so much from someone delivering humor or subtle shade if you interpret it differently.    Whenever I hear the sound of laughter I feel a sense of liveliness and uplift, it is as if a slight euphoria occurs to me. From an obvious standpoint, everybody has their unique sound of laughter: some sound like chuckles, some s...

Giver

An original poem I wrote on Saturday, May 9, 2015, that I am sharing from my journal. Note: This poem is dedicated to people who give and thrive in life while giving. Sacrifice a lot and expect nothing In return realize your worth Do not let others act condescendingly  Give in light of their ungratefulness  Ungratefulness shall sink -- too much weight, too dense Give to others and enrich oneself Oneself is worthy to feel content Live happily with ease, expect nothing In return you realize giving is worth your life  Life is fulfilled and enriched with purpose

Rumination

An original poem written on Sunday, May 17, 2015, that I'm sharing from my journal. Thoughts recycle through the brain -- on repeat There is no end...rumination Mind runs restless every second Life is on repeat...rumination Decisions make or break us We grow from our choices  Think with openness and pause Mind is not on repeat...no rumination

Flawed

Flawed -- Original poem Embrace the imperfections, as you have inflicted many Never forget the pain they gave you Endure the pain to embrace the strength You are flawed Know you're different Know you're loved You are lovable You can love Know you'll you'll mess up while you're in love Imperfections are what compose of you You are flawed You are worthy You are silly You are scarred Strength and fight flows in your blood You are gracious and effervescent You are persistent You are stubborn You are flawed Imperfections are what compose of you

Does generosity indicate weakness?

Just to point out something: This post is just an opinion of a topic I have thought about lately. It is something that I contemplate often times because I view myself as nice, and at times too nice. To me, it is almost sickening that I cannot relinquish my worried mind about being too giving. However, instead of ranting about me, I want you to deem this point of importance -- generosity does not conceal your beautiful soul.  There is so much to fawn about an even-keeled temperament toward other people. You try not to overstep your boundaries. You occupy your mind with the right words to say when conversing with someone. You literally feel frozen at the inkling of what it means to present yourself around others; not to give any vulnerability or sign of discomfort. Ultimately, there are many thoughts that ruminate in your mind, but really it is too difficult to formulate the words to say without hesitation.  Basically, I would like for you to think about this thought: sto...

Pieces -- Original poem

Piece together the fragments that are loose We lose pieces, we pay less mind to Pay mind to the pieces of your life  Your life is like a puzzle Make sure the pieces fit, or tell your story Your puzzle has purpose Piece together your story as yours  Your interpretation matters most Illustrate your pieces as yours  Your pieces make the story live Piece together your life as you tell it This poem was written on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, and it is from my journal. I think it reflect personal notes about our identities.

Peace -- Original poem

Think healthy and well This moment tests faith and time Time is precious and we need to maintain Peace...peace helps the world turn, revolve around the sun Peace...the turning point of life Well let us hope for the best in life We need the life pieced together with peace all over Earth Peace is what we need all the time Personal note: This poem was written on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, and it is from my journal. It is brief and simple, something that speaks for itself.

Release -- Original poem

This is an original poem written on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Let go of the tension Live without inhibitions Life is short to worry No more tension and inhibition Let go of the past times which held you back The present is worthwhile No more tension and inhibition Grow into your skin Your life matters most Life is short and let go No more tension and inhibition Willingly live with a smile You frowned and were angry Life is short and let go No more tension and inhibition

Epiphany -- Original poem

This is an original poem written on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Turn over the page; transcend from one stage to another within time Live and let live when faced by adversity and doom Never falter whenever someone deters oneself Do not listen and ingest the hatred; it won't go away, and one can prevail its insistence An epiphany... Face the challenges, even when one's voice shakes too much One can accomplish goals when faced by difficulty  Triumphant! Declare one's voice and stand Take a stand and one will experience an epiphany

The Beauty of Knowing Art (In More Ways Than You Think)

Art: a form or representation of an expression meant to evoke emotions, or to initiate conversations in order to gain perspectives from the creator. Indeed, art consists of many forms or it can be anything (music, portraits, paintings, production, literature, etc.), and in all its beauty, it may be animate or inanimate. I mean, let’s think about examples of artists such as Salvador Dali, Vincent van Gogh, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz. They are a few of the countless artists and creators alike that we recognize in our present day. Is it funny how art is live or not and gives us the opportunity to interject our opinions? I believe that it can be a cool thing, in a way this collective beauty gathers people to converse in a beautiful way — a way that brings sentiment. Oddly enough, art composes some sort of methodology composed of odd parts, trinkets, sounds and parts that depict itself as an illustration to the world, which many people eith...

Departed Ways — Another Social Media Account Out

Let me start by saying that I will make this post as painlessly concise as possible. After I made this gut-wrenching and difficult decision I realize I reacted in a way that was impulsive and unpredictable — and one that may disappoint some people, and yes, I admit that I am mentioning it again (As I did on Instagram) — which I acknowledge I am complaining. In hindsight, I believe my decision was for the best, so I do not continue to spread any unwanted resentment or vitriolic tension. One philosophy or motto that I am trying to contemplate from all of this is to affirm that my intention is for my solace and conscience. So, with all sincerity, I want to apologize for my tone with this rant, and if you prefer not to read it, I will understand and respect you for it.           Illustratively or ideally, I want to point out that I have experienced such beautiful and somewhat mind-boggling ...

Striking a Message: Social Media Influencers Fascinate Virtual Masses

Just to mention, I do not earn money from social media. This is an opinion piece and in no way criticizing anyone who benefits from social media. However, I do apologize for any consistent spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. Hence, I am still refining my writing skills since my college days.     F or some time now, I have wondered how some people have niches to provoke discussions on the Internet with such ease to garner attention to their content or gain popularity to their brands. Of course, certain social media platforms must have convoluted formulas or earning scales in order to interest people to make earnings, while they thrive on their passions. It is possible many social media influencers know the strategies, or at least contribute ideas, and certainly feel confident about their content. However, many of us, who choose not to monetize from social media observe and realize it takes countless time and effort to work and promote such content to ...

Stamping the Pathway: Women Plant Historical Marks

Personal note: Just to start, the topic of Women’s History Month is challenging, to balance the message and relevance of this piece, because of the fact that March has gained recognition as Women’s History Month, dated back in 1978. Throughout the course of history, an abundance of women mobilized during experiences, instances that confronted adversity based upon gender, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class and other classes within the societal umbrella. Respectively, many compassionate women acted as trailblazers even as many contenders questioned their integrity and intentions. However, it is certain that many women remained persistent and pushed the limits to share awareness. Another personal note: as a plethora of women have declared and acted toward powerful moments of our history, they have transcended above the fray. Personally, I admire women who defend their rights as they strive for a world of equality. From Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Madeline Alb...

Dull And Ordinary Is Fine By Me

Credits: Stephen Hawking and Agile Cockpit Preface: I just need to address that the purpose of this is to uplift people, and provoke observers to consider what it is like for someone who carry “wallflower” characteristics. In no way is this to demean or shame anyone. The “anthem” of this topic is to encompass individuality and self-acceptance. If you so choose, then please give yourself an opportunity to continue to read past this introduction. J             Alright, so most of us can visualize a world where we can try to live life on the edge and be adventurous to an extent. Some of us really thrive off being in the thick of life on a daily basis. Perhaps this can seem effortless for some people, but what about if someone may feel reservations or inhibitions? Does he/she feel the need to conform by the peer pressure to change in exchange of risking authenticity losses? What happens when a shy nobody loses himself/h...

Why I deactivated my Facebook account — and what I learned from it

So from this past November I deactivated my Facebook account. There may be some people who befriended that wonder why I have been absent and less active on the social media website. Ultimately, there were a few reasons why I chose to depart from the social media mega-website. These reasons why sound frivolous or facetious, but I can say subjectively it was nothing personal from anyone I befriended. Well, honestly, I realized that I treated using Facebook mostly as a chore. In hindsight utilizing it became more of something to pass time rather than browse and correspond for fun. For instance, on a daily basis, I check my social media accounts just to keep posted, like posts or pictures and view which content seems relevant. So that seems fine, right? I think it seems and sounds reasonable. However, I felt so drained and so disengaged from Facebook as I personally regretted my purpose of being a member of its online community for ten years and five months. Now, I know that I sound ...

Why Speak, Why Now? Opinions Do Matter.

Source: https://www.brainyquote.com/photos_tr/en/l/lesbrown/382878/lesbrown1.jpg   For starters, let us get real for a moment: sharing opinions is one of bedrocks of our democracy, as there are some countries that do not have that necessity. There comes a time when we can elaborate, share, tweet, post (by pictures, blogs, etc.), talk, deliberate and the more about what our opinions mean to us. Sometimes, sharing one’s thoughts and opinions usually is not an issue at hand, but when one imposes their opinions as superior or rightful to others that becomes problematic and seen as an infringement. When someone becomes demonstrably dominate with her/his opinions, that dominance could shows as a sign of unwillingness to disagree cordially. Initially, this idea about the validation of opinions stemmed from our dissonance in our political climate – and I know my opinions differ from many others – but, more so, this societal shift toward discourse has become interesting because sha...

Pause -- Original Poem (Written without brainstorming or an outline, just with random thoughts to motivate.)

Stop... Pause... Breathe... Never give up.  Wait... Pause... Yearn... Do your best to achieve. Strive... Pause... Learn... About anything that will help you. Jump... Pause... Run... To a destination that fulfills you. Stop... Pause... Breathe... You can do anything great. Adjust... Pause... Plan... Your next move to your greatness. Run... Pause... Rest... As you know you have done your best. Live... Pause... Think... About your strength -- mentally, emotionally, physically. Breathe... Pause... Pause... You are enough. You are great.  Image credit: Picture Quotes
