A Leader? Hmm, Let Us Not Kid Ourselves

T

antalizing fear. Inciting violence. Roughening up your colleagues. Does anyone notice a pattern that seems apparent here? These are just a few of the many troubling signs, upon observation, that illustrate terrifying signs from someone who claims to lead our already great, unified nation – prior to his “reign” in office. Yes, upon the surface, there are nicks, scratches and damages but to reinforce fear and unwanted bigotry and violence only exacerbates the growing problems by causes of his fault. Whenever he does the following: enhances fear, provokes violence toward us during rallies; distributes responsibilities among his administration; deflects accountability for his mistakes and miscalculations; manipulates our public and allies; and possesses inexperience and lacks reassurance, and denies constructive criticisms, it becomes clear that we are in danger. With his blatant lack of cognizance and lacks the willingness to work legitimately as the most chivalrous and dignified leader of the free world, it becomes incumbent upon us (the people of the U.S. and worldwide) to resist Donald Trump’s devastation to our democracy. Now, many of his supporters have excused his chauvinism and obnoxious bluster many times but it becomes old quickly whenever it consistently happens. We must draw boundaries and limits with him to pause his deceit. Moreover, we cannot let his lies, ignorance and deflections of the truth persist any longer, because we must respond and act at times whenever he threatens our lives by his gross, destructive pushback.
So, many think (actually know) why Mr. Trump has projected so much fabrication, and purposely multiply his misinformation to proves his many unsatisfactory talking points. For instance, in late 2016 (around November or December) when he misinterprets the facts about how he will save jobs for Carrier, to which risks facing outsourcing. Well, it seems fine to prevent jobs from outsourcing overseas to other countries, however, the problem is he had “won” the election but had served as president-elect and not been formally inaugurated into office. When he took the initiative to negotiate with Carrier officials, or perhaps executives, about salvaging the jobs in the Indiana plant it was a risky move. Purposely when he made a promise of that caliber it was riding on thin initiative. To make a promise of saving jobs is too much to campaign upon when the uncertainty still looms over those Carrier employees’ heads, and to which causes them to fear of the unknown. Many of them have had tenure. Many of them wanted definitive reassurance that they would not lose their jobs, their purpose for trying to live. Side note to this point: just so it is clear, whenever the transition of power takes place, one Commander-in-chief (which Mr. President Obama) serves at a time – not two.
Another example that comes to mind is Mr. Trump claimed that former predecessor Mr. President Obama “wiretapped” his phones at Trump Tower. To assert such a baseless claim is catastrophic, somewhat frightening and borderline libelous and slanderous. What seems to bring more shame is that former FBI Director Comey debunked Mr. Trump’s claim of wiretapping publicly. Mr. Trump should had let it settle afterward but persistently he doubled down on his claim, and so did many staff of his administration. Foolishness is the mask that never shames his staff. Just the thought of injecting that lie makes matters worse, and instills fear among people who entrust Democrats and our predecessor of class and great candor.
Just to close the previous point, Mr. Trump haunts millions when lackadaisically he had denounced acts of vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, boasting Mexicans being rapists, rage filled raids at mosques, his supporters “knocking out” protestors who show dissonance and numerous other examples of disparaging remarks and acts regarding people of many creeds and ethnicities. What Mr. Trump’s silence seems to signify is his reluctance to disavow these acts of hatred and sheer violence, and to upset and enrage his base of supporters. It multiplies as more of acceptance for the behavior when he declines to comment and denounce acts of hatred, prejudice and fury against people who are simple people, but who are different from what Mr. Trump’s representation of “America”. Plain and simple just these examples, among the numerous, are humiliating, sickening and unpatriotic.
Well, not only are we in deep trouble because of his lack of disavowing acts of borderline fascism and his bluster of false hopes, we will more than likely face imminent danger and disastrous times ahead because of his gross petulance, erratic unpredictability and unwillingness to accept responsibility for his wrongdoing. It is irresponsible of him to deflect the acknowledgement of the issues at hand when the buck stops with Mr. Trump. Obviously, there have been numerous instances when he diverted responsibility from himself and onto other people. What is his beef? Does he grip with the fact that he has the extraordinary service to serve us? Truly, he is not aware of it.
Case in point, when he declares that we should “nuke” North Korea because of its ongoing threats and rounds of intercontinental ballistic missile tests. North Korea has accelerated its efforts intentionally to cause fear onto us with these threats of nuclear missiles, and it has proven to have the masterminds behind the formation. With Mr. Trump’s insistent antagonizing of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump talks a big mean game and elaborates obnoxious nonsense on Twitter with his idiotic bravado. When he fully realizes North Korea is not playing games, will he grip onto reality? The instantaneous answer fares to be no – and nor has he and his administration have devised a concrete strategy or policy to work. These perilous times we encounter are unimaginable yet ones we have not seen in high levels like this present time. Now Trump’s administration either has developed some policies and strategies to combat North Korea or it will falter with pressure when the imminent disaster hits our homeland. To add, we are facing perilous times if we die from the acts of foolishness and miscalculation of a nuclear war. With that said, just one wrong step from North Korea or us can truly endanger – and end – people on the domestic and possibly international scale.
Another example that comes to mind is the case of lack of decry of the defacing and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries. The act that people had distorted and destroyed the tombstone of those whom had died is sickening, horrific and shameful. With the myriad of press conferences and questions from reporters to Mr. Trump, it seemed he declined to comment because he did receive the information fully on the disparagement in order to comment or makes a statement; however, with the time that elapsed the silence from Mr. Trump was deafening and troublesome. Why wait so long to comment? It seemed irresponsible of him not to comment because he has a leadership role that many view him as one, but when a leader does not speak immediately after unjustified, criminal and despicable acts; it really begs a new question. Any act of hatred, fascism and rage in the society is obviously inhumane and unacceptable.
In all, millions of people realize we are encountering such depressing and chilling times ahead. Whenever citizens (Domestic or International) can speak out and resist the urges from our new “leader,” then we can continue to do so or condone Mr. Trump’s belligerent behavior and acts of force. Well, I choose not to wallow because we are defeated. If we have not realized from the Women’s March, Tax March, the Dakota Access Pipeline sit-in, Mexico’s dissent of a border wall and various other acts of protest and dissonance is that we truly have hope and love for the United States and for our allies. We still have the power from the Constitution to act accordingly by law whenever Mr. Trump and his administration threaten our rights at any given moment. Let us not feel intimidation when we have the masses and assonance of our Democrats, allies, ambassadors and a plethora of others who want our democracy intact forever.

Stamping the Pathway: Women Plant Historical Marks

Personal note: Just to start, the topic of Women’s History Month is challenging, to balance the message and relevance of this piece, because of the fact that March has gained recognition as Women’s History Month, dated back in 1978. Throughout the course of history, an abundance of women mobilized during experiences, instances that confronted adversity based upon gender, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class and other classes within the societal umbrella. Respectively, many compassionate women acted as trailblazers even as many contenders questioned their integrity and intentions. However, it is certain that many women remained persistent and pushed the limits to share awareness. Another personal note: as a plethora of women have declared and acted toward powerful moments of our history, they have transcended above the fray. Personally, I admire women who defend their rights as they strive for a world of equality. From Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Madeline Alb...

University textbooks prices can get expensive

Students who attend already know there are many expenses to pay off such as loans, tuition, room and board fees and to top it off, dreaded textbooks. Obviously, buying college textbooks can be essential for college students while enrolled in courses; however they may view buying textbooks as a penny-pinching experience. A vast majority of college students would agree, buying textbooks for classes can be a hassle; but many of us do it anyway. When professors assign textbooks for courses many students comply because they should help us learn coursework and pass classes. Although a main con of buying textbooks is sky-high prices, are there alternative resources when purchasing them? The answers maybe just near our fingertips. A few resources upon suggestion: The Chegg website is a textbook website where textbooks can be rented and shipped to a mailing address. It could be a good resource considering it allows students to rent textbooks and then mail them back to the sender. Another w...

The Inevitable -- Original Poem

It was meant to happen Someone or something unexpected  It interrupts you, discourages you It was meant to happen It has changed you, your life It has made you live for more Someone or something that was meant for you You yearn to know the reason But it remains unknown, hidden It was meant to happen It confuses you, frustrated you It has angered you, enticed you Made you feel defeated But you never gave up You strived to learn more You remained persistent, never gave up It was meant to happen Someone or something unexpected has occurred to you Don't let it go You will know it soon enough It was the inevitable
