There are so many questions that arise when I mention this to my friends, but the one question that comes up is, "Why do you need jaw surgery?" Here is where my answer comes in: I decided to get a corrective jaw surgery procedure because a) it'll help me health-wise in the long run and b) I don't like how I smile with an awkward underbite that acts as a flaw. Now I know it does not look noticeable from the outside, but if you lived with my jaws, then you would understand. Having an underbite can be awkward because I chew irregularly and go through sleep apnea at night. It becomes a problem and an inconvenience, especially when you haven't had "normal" jaws since you were about 7 years old.
